"Sir, I m getting sooo booored ! ... what shud I do NOW ? "

My dear Bachhas, I realised from the many calls that u r getting thoroughly pakaoed in these holidays ... it seems to be a loooong wait b4 ur 1st yr archi commences. So, to make use of the time available here are a few things to keep u occupied & calm down ur nerves ... Relevant computer softwares: U cud enrol in a course in AutoCAD, 3DStudioMax, Photoshop, Corel Dra w. These 3-4 software applications r primarily used by architects - and u as students wud find it beneficial and to ur advantage if u familiarize urself with them. These wud be taught in college too - but it tends to get odd wince that is the time when u wud love to USE these for ur projects rather than still be coping up with learning the software. Another nifty utility is Google SketchUp ... it's a free download and there r plenty of tutorials available ... u can teach urself this 3D app. - a great way to tinker around at home when it's pouring outside. Now that the provision merit list is out, let's

http://www.maharch.org/ http://www.maharch.org/admission/imp_dates.html pls email (not sms!) me (artist.architect@gmail.com) ur marks in this order: Name: HSC mks: NATA mks thus:- (AS = Aesthetic Sensitivity = online exam ... Dwg=Drawing exam) 1st attempt: AS= ....... Dwg=...... total=.......... 2nd attempt : AS=......... Dwg=.......... total=......... 3rd attempt: AS= .......... Dwg=.......... total= ............ Average of all attempts: ........... (since this is the way they hv been taking it this year - not the avg of last 2 attempts, as previously) MAH-AR-CET mks: AS=........... Dwg=........ total=............ HSC/2=.......... NATA/4=........... MAH-AR-CET/4=................ Also, eventually when u secure admission in a college, email me which college u took admission.

For my current batch of NATA & MAH-AR-CAT May-June 2010

Notice for my current batch of NATA & MAH-AR-CAT May-June 2010 giving students: Check maharch.org (MASA’s website) for the admission process to the pvt colleges … typically it wud begin after the NATA exams are wound up (approx mid to end June or later). U wud be reqd to visit a registered centre (ARC) like KRVI or 4 Bandra colleges and fill the online admission form. Here the order of preference – 6 colleges cud be (my suggestion): KRVI, LSR, Rizvi / Pillai’s, IES, Hiray, Asmita. (chk up nata.in to know where these colleges are!) Check dte.org.in for the latest info on MAH-AR-CET 2010 @ the exam and the admission process for the govt colleges … u can fill the order of preference as (my suggestion) Rachana, JJ, Pune colleges, Nasik college. Calculate ur total merit by HSC/2 + NATA/4 (or MAH-AR-CET/4). Thus u will get ur merit mrks / 100. Pls note that some authorities present the above calculation in various formats: eg DTE does it thus: they increase ur HSC mks out of
