For my current batch of NATA & MAH-AR-CAT May-June 2010

Notice for my current batch of NATA & MAH-AR-CAT May-June 2010 giving students:

Check maharch.org (MASA’s website) for the admission process to the pvt colleges … typically it wud begin after the NATA exams are wound up (approx mid to end June or later). U wud be reqd to visit a registered centre (ARC) like KRVI or 4 Bandra colleges and fill the online admission form.

Here the order of preference – 6 colleges cud be (my suggestion): KRVI, LSR, Rizvi / Pillai’s, IES, Hiray, Asmita. (chk up nata.in to know where these colleges are!)

Check dte.org.in for the latest info on MAH-AR-CET 2010 @ the exam and the admission process for the govt colleges … u can fill the order of preference as (my suggestion) Rachana, JJ, Pune colleges, Nasik college.

Calculate ur total merit by HSC/2 + NATA/4 (or MAH-AR-CET/4). Thus u will get ur merit mrks / 100.

Pls note that some authorities present the above calculation in various formats: eg DTE does it thus: they increase ur HSC mks out of 200% ... and add that to ent exam mks - hence totally out of 400). Or MASA may do it by maintaining HSC % and NATA / 200 ... and give merit out of 300 ... or BSSA may half do it as HSC out of 100 and NATA out of 100 (NATA/2) ... total out of 200. So all these r variations of the same logic - ur mks remain the same out of 100.

Typically KRVI min is 68/100 on one hand & Hiray min is 53/100. All other pvt colleges wud fall within this bracket).

BSSA (indep univ – hence NOT in list pvt colleges) is 65/100 .. u apply for it online thru nmims.edu

Govt exam (MAH-AR-CET) mks r typically ~ 20 to 30 mrks higher than NATA … since it is a diluted version of NATA exam … so dun ned any additional prep …so pls revise the same things u did for NATA. The only additional ? type is. Of course u hv to actually DRAW the 2D / 3D unlike NATA’s MCQs … since CET is a purely manual exam. (hence no identify monuments question). A student scoring 120 in NATA shud be able score 140 - 150 in MAH-AR-CET.

Today 26^th May 2010 was the last day of class. I hv nothing more 2 teach u for the exams.

I declare that u r all competent to give both the exams confidently to the best of ur individual capacities!

When u hv applied online admission PLS READ UP CAREFULLY THE WHOLE PROCESS – esp @ CAP 1, CAP 2, CAP 3 rounds ! … u hv to be in the proces continuously by paying fees in whatever college u get in CAP 1, to be eligible in CAP 2 round … but pls read up as these conditions might change subtly from year to year. (this process may be different for archi and engg admission – so pls do not assume it to be so if ur engg friends tell u sumthin else. Yet agqain, read up the website – that’s the final authority).

Pls be in communication wid other students of our class so that u don’t end up missing out any online admission process / deadlines / form filling etc etc.
